Stainless steel pipes, as a widely used material in various fields such as construction, chemical, food, and medical, involve multiple complex and delicate steps in their production process. 1、 Raw material preparation

The production of stainless steel pipes begins with the selection of high-quality raw materials. The steel plant provides stainless steel plates or strips as production raw materials according to customer needs. These raw materials need to have excellent corrosion resistance and physical properties to ensure the quality of the final product.

2、 Rolling and Annealing

Next, the raw materials need to be processed by a rolling mill to roll the stainless steel plate or steel strip to the desired thickness of the pipe material. This step is similar to rolling noodles, using mechanical pressure to achieve the predetermined thickness specification of the material. However, the rolled material often has problems such as uneven material distribution and substandard physical properties, so annealing treatment is required. Annealing is the process of placing materials in a high-temperature furnace, heating and insulating them to rearrange their internal structure and restore the excellent properties of stainless steel, such as toughness and strength.

3、 Splitting and management

The annealed material needs to be divided into strips according to the required outer diameter of the pipe, that is, the large plate is cut into steel strips of different widths. Subsequently, these steel strips were fed into a pipe making machine equipped with molds of different diameters for production. The pipe making process involves curling steel strips into corresponding shapes and connecting them into seamless or welded stainless steel pipes through welding techniques. Welding is a key process in the production of stainless steel pipes, mainly using argon arc welding and plasma welding techniques to ensure welding quality and pipe sealing.

4、 Polishing and surface treatment

The welded stainless steel pipe needs to be polished to improve its appearance quality. The polishing machine is equipped with polishing tools such as wax, hemp wheel, and cloth wheel. By polishing, the surface of the pipe is polished to a silver bright color, removing the oxide scale and defects generated during the welding process. In addition, according to customer needs, surface treatments such as wire drawing and acid washing can also be carried out to meet the needs of different application scenarios.

5、 Inspection and Packaging

The stainless steel pipes produced must undergo strict inspection procedures, including visual inspection, dimensional inspection, pressure testing, etc., to ensure that they meet quality standards. Qualified products will be packaged and labeled for transportation and storage. During the packaging process, attention should be paid to protecting the surface of the pipe from scratches and contamination, ensuring that the product maintains good appearance and performance when it reaches the customer's hands.

6、 Special processing techniques

For the production of seamless stainless steel pipes, special processes such as hot rolling or cold drawing are also required. The hot rolling process includes steps such as heating the round billet, perforation, three roll oblique rolling, continuous rolling or extrusion, tube removal, sizing (or reducing), cooling, etc; On this basis, the cold drawing process adds steps such as annealing, acid washing, oil coating (copper plating), and multiple cold drawing (cold rolling). These special processing techniques enable seamless pipes to have higher precision and strength, making them suitable for fields with higher requirements for pipe performance.

The production process of stainless steel pipes is a complex and delicate process, involving multiple steps such as raw material preparation, rolling annealing, slitting, polishing surface treatment, inspection and packaging.
